How to Earn $135 this Week Using Movie Maker or iMovie.

The year was just about to end, and I was broke. I had almost no money in bank, and I needed to pay off a ton of debt. It has always been at these low points in life that I find creative ways to get out of my problems.

Chances are, if you're reading this, you're probably facing a similar issue. You've probably been checking for ways to earn some "moola" online. Unfortunately, laying sideways on your bed or couch, reading success stories of people who have already made some cash online will get you nowhere. I used to do all of this frequently, until I decided to actually get up and do some work.

Eventually, I stumbled upon earning cash through video editing. I had been editing video frequently in the past, but I never considered actually earning money through it. After advertising my skills for just a week, I had acclaimed five clients who were willing to pay about $27 each for a simple video which I created in iMovie and occasionally, Movie Maker. This helped me raise enough money to pay off my debt until I got a job.

It was honestly a very interesting experience and I vowed to one day share it. That led you here. In this article, I will share what I did to earn this amount.

I will just like to add a quick disclaimer. What you're going to read will not guarantee your success. My circumstances will most likely not be the same as yours. Additionally, this is no tutorial on how to use Movie Maker or iMovie. I am merely going to show you how to utilize these tools to your own benefit.

Step 1: Learn how to use iMovie or Movie Maker

Well, obviously! If you are reading this, then you may already know how these and other related tools work. But if you don't know, you have to learn. The learning process is very straightforward even. It'll only take a day to learn; and with trial and error, you'll get through it.

Step 2: Create a service

If you are familiar with video editing, this may be your step 1. A service is basically

"the action of helping or doing work for someone" whether it is free or paid.
Creating a service is a straightforward process. But incase you don't know what I mean, here is what you basically need to do.

  • Think of a name: If you want to use your free name, feel free to do so. Or, you could also choose to make your own brand name.
  • Identify your skills: If you are new to video editing, then think of the best kind of video you can make. Can you make a slideshow, a video presentation, or a movie trailer? Good! Now write that down!
  •  Create a portfolio: This is definitely the most time consuming part. You need to make at least 5 videos to show potential clients how good your work is. I suggest that you pour your heart out when making these videos, as they will serve as one of your selling points.

Step 3: Advertise Your Service

Without this step, you can't earn a dime. You need to advertise your service in one way or another. Here's how I did it.

First of all, I created social media pages on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram. From there, I went on to build a simple website were I talked about my service.

Next, I checked online for a list of the most popular website in my country. I posted free ads, comments, and articles which talked about my service.

Next came the offline advertisement. I told my friends and family about what I was doing and begged them to publicize my work. I got amazing results. Within the first month, I had gotten 24 potential clients (I did not work for all though).

Advertise your service to sell more.

If you apply these 3 steps, I can assure you that you will gain from this. You may make more than I did, or you could gain less. But no matter what, you will gain some experience in advertising.

If this post has helped you, please do not hesitate to share it on social media, we'd like to hear from you.
